Hamilton Heights won its Senior Night game on Saturday, beating Monroe Central 81-68 at the Huskies’ gym.
Heights outscored the Golden Bears in each quarter, going up 22-21 after the first period and 41-38 at halftime. The Huskies slowly added to their lead in the third quarter, then took care of business in the fourth by scoring 23 points.
Gus Etchison had another fantastic night, scoring 44 points. Etchison made five 3-pointers and was 11 of 12 from the free-throw line, also reaching double-double status with 10 rebounds.
Isaac Wilson added 14 points, while Luke Carroll had 12 and nine rebounds. Lucas Letsinger collected five rebounds.
The Huskies are 3-1 and play at Lebanon on Tuesday.

Tigers get victory at Shenandoah
Fishers traveled to Shenandoah on Saturday for a pick-up game with the Raiders, and came home with a 50-40 victory.
The Tigers were originally scheduled to host Carmel that night, but that game has been postponed to Feb. 6. Instead, Fishers headed east and won a tough game with 2A No. 5 Shenandoah. The Tigers outscored the Raiders in each quarter, leading 12-11 after the first period and 29-22 at halftime. Charlie Smith scored 11 points in the first half, including a 3-pointer.
Jeffrey Simmons had six points in the third quarter, which saw Fishers extend its lead to 42-33. Simmons finished with 14 points for the Tigers, while Smith had 13 points.
Fishers is 4-2 and plays at Lafayette Jefferson on Tuesday.

‘Hawks drop HHC opener
Sheridan dropped its Hoosier Heartland Conference opener on Saturday, falling at Rossville 64-52.
The Hornets led the Blackhawks 13-7 after the first quarter, but Sheridan came roaring back to take a 29-24 lead at halftime. Rossville answered that run in the third period, scoring 21 points to lead 45-37 by the end of the quarter. The Hornets then used hot shooting to seal the game in the fourth.
Silas DeVaney scored 19 points for the ‘Hawks and also had six rebounds and five steals. Ethan Moistner added 16 points and pulled five rebounds.
Sheridan is 2-2 and hosts Tri-Central Friday for another HHC contest.
