Guerin Catholic got a chance to play at the historic Hoosier Gym in Knightstown on Thursday, and made the most of the opportunity by beating Indianapolis Washington 82-60.
The Golden Eagles dominated in the first half, leading 23-10 after the first quarter and 39-15 at halftime. Guerin Catholic led by as much as 44-16 early in the third period; the Continentals played even with the Golden Eagles in the second half, but Guerin Catholic remained comfortably ahead throughout the game.
Four GC players finished in double figures, led by Cameron Weitzel’s 18 points. Weitzel made three 3-pointers. Bernie McGuinness earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kaleb Edwards added 13 points and Matthew Gillis scored 10 points and collected six rebounds. Elijah Edwards pulled five rebounds and Joseph Bobilya dished out four assists.
The Golden Eagles are 14-6 for the season and will play their next game Tuesday at Noblesville.
