Executives from Michigan-based BorgWarner Automotive Inc. joined Noblesville and state officials on Thursday to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new 100,000-square-foot technical center in Noblesville. The facility consolidates BorgWarner’s existing Indiana tech centers into one location.

The $28 million project creates 23 new jobs and will bring more than 300 existing jobs to Noblesville.

The facility will increase BorgWarner’s research and development capacities in order to meet increased demand for its propulsion systems for hybrid and electric vehicles. When the project was announced in May 2017, BorgWarner said the new facility would combine research and development, testing, prototype building, engineering and design work under one roof.
