April 1, 2018
Bob Gerdenich, 75, died Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. Bob was fighting cancer, and his death was unexpected but understandable.
Bob came into this world as Maten G. Gerdenich, II. He lived in Hamilton County for most of his life, graduating from Cathedral High School and Butler University. Bob had a successful career in real estate appraising, property management and land acquisition. He worked with Will Stump & Associates and participated in the rapid growth and development of Hamilton County. Bob was instrumental in well field property acquisition for the former Indianapolis Water Company, and for right-of-way acquisitions for many State and County highway projects. He also served on the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals (PTABOA) tax board.
Bob had two adult children from his marriage to Linda Jane Gerdenich, of Aspen, Colo: son Mat, Indianapolis, and daughter Wendy Kay (Schrepferman), Indianapolis. In 2017, Bob married his long-time friend and companion, Linda McGraw, and they lived in Noblesville. He has two step-children, Jacob (Laci) McGraw, Attica, and Molly McGraw, California; several grandchildren; and brother, Joe (Shirley) Gerdenich, Toledo.
Bob Gerdenich was a strong personality and colorful guy. He was a decisive, opinionated man who knew what he liked and was firm in his beliefs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and spirited conversations. He favored Conner Prairie where he served as the Headless Horseman for several seasons.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.
