The University boys won their fifth straight game Friday night, rolling to a 70-32 win over Victory College Prep.
The Trailblazers scored the first 11 points of the game and the contest had a running clock for the final 15 minutes of play as University had 13 players see action and 11 score.
Larry Pierce and Sabien Cain had 11 points each. Steven Scott came off the bench to add nine points, Nate Jeffrey contributed eight points and Kahmi Bracey seven.
University led 20-7 after the opening period as Cain had seven points in the period. The Blazers stretched that lead to 41-12 at halftime, closing on a 14-0 run. University had eight of those points in the last minutes of the period. Bracey scored a layin after a steal, Jeffrey tipped in a rebound, Scott scored on a dunk and Cain closed the scoring on a layin after a Jeffrey steal.
The Trailblazers extended their scoring run to 24 points by scoring the first 10 points of the third quarter. Nine different Blazers scored in the period and University led 60-22 after three periods.
University is now 12-6 on the season. The Firehawks fell to 1-18.
University plays at 1 p.m. today at Park Tudor in the Pioneer Academic Athletic Conference championship game. The Trailblazers are the four-time defending PAAC champions.
