The University swim teams competed in the Schools with No Pools Invitational Tuesday at the IU Natatorium.
The Trailblazers boys finished seventh as a team, scoring 158 points. The top 12 scored in each event, with Roy Raz winning the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:50.72 and the 500 free in 5:06.12. Raz joined Cole Reinholt, Austin Clark and Coghlin Kumler placing fourth in both the 200 free and 400 free relays.
Additionally, Reinholt took sixth in the breaststroke and eighth in the individual medley. Clark placed 11th in the 50 free and 12th in the 100 free, while the medley relay team of Gordon Bradley, Ari Atlas, Andrew Laramore and Ethan Bandick was 11th. Kumler took 12th in the 50 free.
University’s girls placed 12th in the meet by scoring 60 points. Charlotte Kumler took second in the 500 free and was ninth in the backstroke. Kumler joined Ella Eskenazi, Macy Paton and Stasia Reinholt to also take ninth in the 400 free relay. Eskenazi placed 12th in the 500 free, with the team of Zoe Napier, Caitlin Clark, Paton and Reinholt finishing 12th in the medley relay.
The Trailblazers teams will compete in the Zionsville sectional, with the girls racing there next week and the boys the week of Feb. 13.
