The Sheridan girls basketball team put on a show at Frankfort’s famed Case Arena on Tuesday, as the Blackhawks flew past the Hot Dogs 63-26.
Sheridan outscored Frankfort in each of the four quarters. The ‘Hawks led 22-6 after the first period, with Cecilia Timme pouring in seven points. Kenzie Garner added six points.
Ashley Webel stepped up for Sheridan in the second quarter, throwing in two 3-pointers as the Blackhawks led 36-12 at the break. Sheridan then scored 15 points in the third quarter, then three players each scored four points for the ‘Hawks in the fourth. The defense also did its job, never allowing the Hot Dogs more than seven points in a period. Timme had several steals during the game.
Timme was also the leading scorer with 15 points, followed by Garner with 12. Webel had three 3-pointers for nine points, while Taylor Bates scored eight, contributing four points in both the third and fourth quarter.
Sheridan is 4-2 and goes back to Clinton County on Friday to play a Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Clinton Prairie.
