Sheridan dominated Taylor 65-40 in a Friday Hoosier Heartland Conference game that also served as the Blackhawks’ Homecoming game.
Sheridan broke out of a 12-12 first-quarter tie by outscoring the Titans 17-4 in the second period for a 29-16 halftime lead. The ‘Hawks then added 20 points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Ange Gnamkey had another strong game, scoring 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting. Gnamkey also pulled eight rebounds. Nick Burnell, Jack Waitt and Sean Weitzel each added eight points, with Weitzel also grabbing five rebounds.
Sheridan is firmly in third place in the HHC standings with a 3-1 record. Clinton Prairie and Rossville currently lead the conference at 4-0. Those two teams will play each other tonight at Rossville.
The Blackhawks are 7-6 overall and also continue conference play tonight with a game at Tri-Central.
