Blackhawks prove their ranking with huge win over Herron, Trailblazers shut out Shortridge

The Sheridan girls soccer team came on to the Class 1A coaches poll at No. 4 this week, and the Blackhawks celebrated with a 9-0 win over Herron Monday.

Brielle Garner and Sadie Timme each scored two goals for Sheridan. Cecilia Timme, Mac Smith, Avery Hills, Makenzy Terry and Abby Dallas all added one goal.

The Blackhawks are 4-0 and host Taylor Thursday.

University beat Shortridge 6-0 in a Tuesday game.

Samantha Purdie scored the Trailblazers’ first two goals, putting them ahead 2-0 at halftime. Mack Feeney then took over for three goals in the second half, with Bella Miller Krigger also scoring a goal. Goalkeeper Annie Ingersoll recorded the shutout.

University is 1-2 and plays at Scecina Thursday.
