Sheridan got off to a good start, and that helped the Blackhawks to a 36-28 victory at Covenant Christian on Thursday.
Sheridan outscored the Warriors 13-4 in the first quarter. Nova Cross led the way with five points. Covenant played even with the ‘Hawks in the second period, but Sheridan maintained a 20-12 lead at halftime. The Blackhawks then cruised through the third quarter to lead 32-18, with Brielle Garner scoring five points, then held on in the fourth.
All seven players that took to the floor for Sheridan scored. Brielle Garner led with eight points, including two 3-pointers. Kenzie Garner scored seven points.
The Blackhawks are 2-1 and play Tuesday at Western Boone.
