Sheridan fell in the semi-finals of the Class 1A Frontier sectional on Monday to No. 8-ranked Rossville 3-1.
The Blackhawks scored their run in the second inning when Cole Macintosh singled in Cole Bales, who had gotten on base with a double. But the Hornets took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring all three of their runs.
Gavin Reners threw six strikeouts in six and two-thirds innings for Sheridan, which finished its season 10-19.
