Sheridan dropped a close game to Tipton Friday in the semifinals of Class 2A Sectional 39 at Frankton.
The Blackhawks jumped out to a 20-13 lead after the first quarter. Trey Page hit two 3-pointers for six points, with Caleb Wright scoring five points. The Blue Devils cut into that lead during the second quarter, but Sheridan still was up 29-26 at halftime.
Tipton moved ahead 43-42 after three quarters; Damon Winston helped keep the ‘Hawks in it with five points. The game was tied at 45-45 with 6:17 left in the fourth, but the Blue Devils inched ahead towards the middle of the period and held on for the win.
Four Sheridan players reached double-digit scoring. Damon Winston finished with 13 points, with Caleb Wright and Devon Hamilton each scoring 12 points. Page had 11 points.
Carson Wright led the rebounds with six, followed by five each from Caleb Wright and Winston. Caleb Wright dished out six assists, while Hamilton handed out four assists.
The Blackhawks completed their season with a 16-6 record, the most wins for Sheridan since its 2002-03 team also went 16-6.
