Sheridan’s boys picked up their first Hoosier Heartland Conference victory of the season Friday, and they did so with authority over Clinton Central 63-48 in an away game.
The Blackhawks soared through the first quarter for a 21-9 lead. Trent DeCraene scored 10 points, including two 3-pointers. Damon Winston also hit two 3s.
Sheridan led 30-18 at halftime, then held a 45-35 advantage after three periods. Tyler Garner helped out in that quarter with six points. Caleb Wright took over in the fourth period, scoring seven points, while Winston added another six.
DeCraene finished the game with 19 points, while Winston scored 18. Winston totaled four 3s and DeCraene made three triples. Garner added 11 points. Winston led the rebounds with nine, followed by Carson Wright with seven and Garner with six. DeCraene handed out five assists and Winston made three blocked shots.
Sheridan is 1-1 in conference play and 3-1 overall. The Blackhawks travel to Eastern next Friday to continue HHC competition.
