Big second quarter sends ‘Hounds past Brownsburg

Carmel picked up its third consecutive win on Saturday by beating Brownsburg 58-45 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The game was tied at 12-12 after the first quarter, but the Class 4A No. 4 Greyhounds took over in the second period, outscoring the Bulldogs 19-7 for a 31-19 halftime lead. Carmel then led 45-34 after three quarters.
Brian Waddell led the ‘Hounds with 19 points, with Charlie Williams adding 10 points. Waddell pulled eight rebounds and Connor Gioia dished out six assists.
Carmel is now 13-1 for the season and plays at home again on Friday, hosting Ben Davis in a Metropolitan Conference game.
