Guerin Catholic dropped its regular-season and Circle City Conference finale on Friday, falling at Roncalli 42-14.
The Rebels blitzed the Class 3A No. 8 Golden Eagles in the first quarter, scoring 28 unanswered points. Roncalli added another touchdown in the second period to take a 35-0 halftime lead.
Guerin Catholic got on the board in the third quarter, when Gus Baumgartner ran 68 yards to score a touchdown. The Rebels scored again with 4:02 left, but the Golden Eagles answered that at the end of the period, with Christian Gelov streaking 59 yards to score. Luke Etchison kicked both extra points.
Baumgartner finished with 117 yards in six carries, while Gelov gained 93 yards, and also completed 7 of 12 passes. Bernie McGuinness caught three of those throws.
Guerin Catholic finished conference play 0-3 and the regular season 5-4. The Golden Eagles begin play in Sectional 28 next Friday with a trip to Yorktown.
