A young woman is listed in stable condition after being hit by an SUV while on her bicycle.
According to the Carmel Police Department, at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, April 30, police responded to an accident involving a bicyclist and a white SUV at the intersection of 111th Street and the Monon Greenway.
The bicyclist was traveling southbound on the Monon Greenway and failed to stop at the 111th Street intersection. A white GMC Yukon operated by Sandra S. Blair, 66, Indianapolis, was traveling eastbound 111th Street approaching the Monon Greenway and was unable to avoid colliding with the bicyclist.
The bicyclist was transported to Riley Children’s hospital with a possible broken bone and laceration to her thigh. She is listed in stable condition.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
