George Kristo continues his legacy as champion for youth
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that encourages and celebrates philanthropy worldwide.
The Club will once again hold a campaign to find 100 Helping Heroes and will be selling hearts throughout the day with various numbers ranging from 1 to 1,500, each valued at the corresponding dollar amount. Donations from heroes purchasing hearts will be generously matched by George Kristo again this year.
“George continues to go above and beyond while being a champion and hero for the youth of this community,” said BGCN Executive Director Becky Terry. “We cannot thank him enough for the impact that he has on our Club and the youth we serve each day.”
On Nov. 10, BGCN was able to kick off the campaign at its third annual Topgolf Tournament to ‘Tee It Up for Club Kids,’ and more than $3,400 was raised for #GivingTuesday. This year, the Club’s goal is to surpass last year’s total of $20,000 that was raised on #GivingTuesday, including Kristo’s matching gift.
Last year, BGCN served 2,306 local youth with its affordable, high-impact after school programs. Throughout the pandemic, the Club has continued to serve hundreds of members through a wide range of safe, socially distanced programs that even included a Virtual Clubhouse during the stay-at-home order.
A social media campaign will take place throughout the day to update the public and supporters on the Club’s campaign. Donations can be made by calling the Club, dropping off a donation, or donating online at BGCNI.org.
