On Monday, Beaver Materials withdrew a request for a change in zoning to allow a gravel pit just south of Potter’s Bridge in Noblesville.
Beaver’s controversial proposal recently received no recommendation from the Noblesville Plan Commission. The request for a zoning change was then scheduled to be heard by the Noblesville Common Council on Tuesday.
Beaver’s proposal was met with opposition by a group of local residents known as “Don’t Leave It to Beaver,” in addition to the Hoosier Environmental Council and Indiana American Water.
The City of Noblesville issued a social media statement that indicated Beaver Materials retains the opportunity to refile the petition for a zoning change.
