A combined no-hitter helped the Fishers baseball team took the first game of a Hoosier Crossroads Conference series with Noblesville on Thursday, winning 4-2 at the Tigers’ field.
Fishers scored its first run in the second inning, after Jase Ruggles cracked a center field double to score Trevor Hall. The Tigers added three runs in the fifth inning: Carter Strole got the inning’s first run, then Luke Cherry’s center field hit brought in Brady Carman and Zander Carnahan.
Noblesville scored both of its runs in the seventh inning. McCoy Fulk got home when Aiden Ramsey drew a bases-loaded walk, then Tanner Miller scored when Aiden Reynolds drew a bases-loaded walk.
Owen Sanders and Ruggles combined to allow no hits during the game. Sanders pitched six innings for the win, striking out seven, with Ruggles pitching the seventh inning, striking out one and inducing a double play to finish the game.
Joe Glander pitched a complete game for Noblesville, with six strikeouts.
Fishers improved to 3-0 in the conference and 8-1 overall, while Noblesville is 1-2 in HCC play and 5-6 overall. The series continues at 7 p.m. tonight at the Millers’ Don Dunker Field.
