The IHSAA baseball season officially begins on Monday, and Noblesville is not wasting any time putting together a big event.
After beginning their season Monday with a game at Cathedral, the Millers will host their own Noblesville Invitational later in the week. The event begins Thursday with three non-bracket games: Noblesville hosts Franklin Community at 3 p.m., then Zionsville takes on Columbus East at the Millers’ Don Dunker Field at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Fishers will host Mount Vernon, also at 6 p.m.
Bracket play begins on Friday. The Tigers take on Franklin at 10 a.m. at Dunker, while Center Grove plays Columbus East on the facility’s Turf Field, also at 10 a.m. The other two games take place at the Dunk: Zionsville vs. Columbus North at 4 p.m. and Mount Vernon vs. Noblesville at 7 p.m.
Results from Friday will determine the Saturday pairings and times, with the championship game set for 7 p.m.
Hamilton Southeastern will also be hosting its Royal Classic later in the week. The Royals play Pike at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by Saturday games with DeKalb at 10 a.m. and McCutcheon at 7 p.m.
Other games scheduled at the Royal Classic include a Friday contest between McCutcheon and DeKalb, which starts at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Pike plays the Mavericks at 1 p.m. and DeKalb at 4 p.m. before HSE’s night game.
