Thomas Price had a perfect day for the University baseball team on Thursday.
The Trailblazers beat Shortridge 10-0 in five innings at RoundTripper Academy. Price led the way with his perfect game, facing the minimum 15 batters and allowing none on base. Price had 11 strikeouts for the game.
University’s offense did its job, too. Jake Hooker led off with a triple, then scored on Sam Woodward’s RBI groundout. The ‘Blazers then added four runs in the second inning and five more in the fifth to get the run-rule victory. Hooker ended the game when he scored on an error.
Hooker, Brady Redman and Mitchell Price all had two hits, with Mitchell Price and Woodward both hitting a double.
University is 7-2 and hosts Seton Catholic tonight.

Noblesville picked up an HCC victory at Franklin Central Thursday by the score of 8-2.
The Millers scored their first two runs in the first inning, with RBI singles from Bryce Riggs and Conner Bloss. Nolan Decker scored the first run and Trevor Corbett the second run.
Jacob Edwards’ fourth-inning hit scored Luke Wilson. Noblesville added three runs in the fifth; Decker got home on an error, then the Millers got back-to-back sacrifice flies: Kern brought Corbett home and Bloss got Riggs in to score.
Noblesville finished things up with two runs in the sixth. Riggs singled in Kolby Kazmierski, then Kern batted in Corbett, it was the third run scored for the freshman.
Wilson had three hits for the game. Lucas Stephan pitched six innings for the win, striking out eight.
The Millers are 3-2 in the conference and 5-6 overall. They host Franklin Central tonight to complete the HCC series.

Guerin Catholic won a wild Circle City Conference game with Brebeuf Jesuit on Wednesday, by the score of 17-10.
The game was called after six innings due to darkness, but not before the Golden Eagles took control in the fifth inning, pouring in 12 runs.
Guerin Catholic started with a run in the first inning, with Davis Wagner hitting in Clay Patton. Wagner struck again in the third inning, smacking a home run that also scored Patton.
The Braves led 6-3 midway through the fifth, but it was all Golden Eagles after that. Patton singled in Will Fremion, then Bryson Dorsey batted Anthony Ferrucci home. That loaded the bases, and Sam Tabor drew a walk to score Patton and tie the game.
Caden Ratcliff scored the go-ahead run after Ryan Zimmerman reached on error, then Cuinn Morrow cracked a left field hit to score Tabor and Sam Miller (running for Dorsey). AJ Nunley provided his own two-RBI single to score Morrow and Zimmerman. Patton doubled home Ferrucci (who hit a single), then Ratcliff’s double brought Patton home. Dorsey singled Ratcliff home, and Morrow drew a bases-loaded walk to score Miller (again running for Dorsey).
After all that, Guerin led 15-6. Brebeuf scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning, but a two-run single by Ratcliff scored the final runs of the game. Patton and Fremion both got home.
Patton wound up with five runs, with Fremion and Ratcliff each getting three hits. Fremion also got the pitching win, while reliever Wagner threw five strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles are 7-2 and play at the Catholic Classic starting today, with a game against Lafayette Central Catholic.

Sheridan rebounded from a 13-5 Hoosier Heartland Conference loss against Delphi on Wednesday by cruising past Herron 18-1 on Thursday.
The Blackhawks poured in 11 runs during the third inning of their game with Herron. Sebastian Salazar hit an inside the park home run during that inning, while David Will had a triple. Cole Macintosh was 4-for-4 at the plate, and Salazar batted in three runs. Will pitched three innings for the win.
Sheridan fell behind 3-0 against the Oracles before tying the game with three runs in the fifth inning. Dayne Voege and Camden Spencer both scored on an error, then Sebastian Salazar batted in David Will.
Delphi pulled ahead for good in the sixth inning by scoring seven runs. The ‘Hawks got two more runs in the bottom of the sixth; Zach Bales scored on Nathan Henshaw’s RBI groundout, then Voege got home on an error.
Salazar finished with two hits and also had five strikeouts in five innings on the mound.
Sheridan is 5-3 and hosts Frankton Monday.

Hamilton Southeastern also got a rebound victory on Thursday, taking care of Mount Vernon 6-3 after dropping a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Avon Wednesday 4-3.
The Royals went up 2-0 in the first inning on the Marauders. Cole Earlewine singled in Ty Bradle and Landon Riekhof. Bradle scored again in the third inning on Griffen Haas’ RBI groundout, then Earlewine blasted a triple to send Clayton Wilke home.
Christian Beal doubled in Southeastern’s other two runs in the sixth inning, scored Haas and Hunter Dilts. Earlewine was 3-for-3 at the plate, and Bradle also hit a doube. Cam Howard got the pitching win, striking out 11 and allowing just three hits.
Against the Orioles, the Royals took a 2-0 lead in the second inning; Ty Bradle got home on Hunter Wright’s RBI groundout, then Landon Riekhof singled in Ian Bucher. Avon scored three runs in the third inning to take the lead. Wright scored on a passed ball in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game again, but an RBI single in the bottom of the inning gave Avon the lead.
Riekhof finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate.
Southeastern is 5-7 and is off until next Thursday when it plays at Fishers to begin the Mudsock series.
