Heights falls to Western on the road
Hamilton Heights lost to Western 10-0 in a five-inning Hoosier Conference game Wednesday on the road.
The Huskies had two hits in the game, a second-inning single from Sam Rupe and a third-inning double by Cole Meyer.
“We have really struggled the last two nights,” said Heights coach JR Moffatt. “We haven’t hit and we haven’t made plays defensively that we need to make. Cole Meyer had a really nice double to left and Sam Rupe had a single and made one really good defensive play at third to throw a guy out at home, other than that we didn’t do much of anything.”
Heights is now 0-2 in the conference and 1-3 overall. The Huskies next play at Maconaquah on Friday.
“We will get to work,” said Moffatt. “We will find out how much resolve we have as a group. This isn’t the way any of us pictured this season starting. It’s a good life lesson, we can pack it in or we can get dirty. I fully believe the tide will turn, these are good, hard working kids and hard work usually pays pretty good dividends.”
