The Guerin Catholic baseball team swept a home doubleheader with Norwell last Saturday.
The Golden Eagles won the first game 3-2. The Knights scored one run each in the third and fourth innings, but Guerin Catholic came back by putting up all three of their runs in the fifth.
Bryson Dorsey batted in the first run, smacking a right field double to bring in Aiden Ochall. Nate Gremelspacher took care of the rest, with a two-run single to bring on Karson Smith and Davis Wagner.
Dorsey finished the game with two hits. Daulton Phillips got the win in relief, while starter Cuinn Morrow threw five strikeouts in four innings.
In the second game, the Golden Eagles were stretched to nine innings before getting a walk off 4-3 win. Morrow got on base with a left field hit, stole second base, and was driven home by AJ Nunley’s center field double.
Guerin Catholic scored its first run in the third inning; Nolan Ratcliff got home on Davis Wagner’s sacrifice fly. Norwell answered with two runs in the top of the fourth inning, but the Golden Eagles tied the game in the sixth. Wagner was brought in by a Grant Beard sacrifice fly.
Both teams scored one run in the eighth inning. Ian Taylor blasted a lead off home run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 3-3.
Nunley was 3-for-4 at the plate. Beard had two hits; both he and Wagner hit one double. Max Meyer got the pitching win, while Tate Troxell threw four strikeouts in two innings.
Guerin Catholic is 15-3 and hosts Roncalli Tuesday for a Circle City Conference game.

Hamilton Southeastern beat Hamilton Heights 8-2 last Saturday at the Huskies’ field.
Both teams scored two runs in the first inning. The Royals’ Kam Seitz batted in Alex Billman with a left field hit, then scored on Parker O’Steen’s RBI groundout. Logan Hickman scored Heights’ first run when John Irion hit a sacrifice fly, then Dillon Pitts singled Dean Mason home to tie the game.
Southeastern took the lead for good in the third inning with two runs. Maddux Bach brought Seitz in with a single, then was sent home by Colin Goley’s center field hit. The Royals later put up four runs in the seventh inning: Bach’s left field hit brought in Billman, Goley smacked a two-run hit to score Sawyer Kiehl and Kian Kelly, then Bach stole home plate.
Bach and Goley both had two hits for HSE, while Billman hit a double. Nate McGrath got the pitching win. Nick Hulen, Mason and Landon Cook had one hit for the Huskies.
The Royals are 9-12 and play Wednesday at Anderson. Heights is 10-9 and plays at Madison-Grant Monday.

Carmel dropped a 6-3 game to Mooresville last Saturday at Hartman Field.
The Pioneers scored one run in both the first and second innings. The Greyhounds answered both times, with two runs in the bottom of the first. JD Stein got home on a wild pitch, then Parker Heaney’s right field hit brought in Hunter Snow, who got on base with a double.
Carmel took a 3-2 lead in the second inning: Stein got on base with a double, then was brought home by Tyler Walkey’s center field hit. But Mooresville scored four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead.
The Greyhounds are 10-8 and play Friday at Roncalli.
