The Sheridan baseball team cruised to a 7-1 Hoosier Heartland Conference victory at Carroll Wednesday.
The Blackhawks scored their first run in the third inning: Camden Spencer got home when Cole Mackintosh reached on error. The Cougars tied the game with a fourth inning run, but Sheridan exploded for six runs in the seventh inning.
Jack Oland batted in the first two runs with a left field single that brought Caleb Alexander and Mackintosh home. Jack Crail’s right field hit scored Spencer and Roman Cla. The Hawks loaded the bases, then Braelan Bochner scored when Dayne Voege drew a walk. Alexander then got a walk to bring in Clinton Slopsema.
Oland and Chance Spencer both had two hits. Mackintosh pitched a complete game, striking out four.
Sheridan is 3-3 in conference play and 8-7 overall. The Blackhawks host Horizon Christian at 5 p.m. this afternoon.

Fishers picked up a Hoosier Crossroads Conference win at Avon Wednesday, by the score of 5-1.
The Tigers scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Jack Brown singled in Deagan Repp for the first run, then Huston Dunn got home on Ben Hammond’s RBI groundout.
The Orioles got their run in the bottom of the first, but Fishers scored two more in the top of the second. Trevor Hall scored on Noah McPeek’s RBI groundout, then Brady Carman got home on a passed ball.
The Tigers completed their scoring with a sixth inning run; Evan Gardner was brought in by an Owen Lukac bunt. Hammond finished with two hits, while Brown got the pitching win, striking out six and allowing two hits in six innings.
Fishers is 6-3 in HCC play and 14-7 overall. The Tigers host Avon tonight to complete the series.

Guerin Catholic won a Wednesday game at Park Tudor 9-5.
The Golden Eagles got their first run in the third inning when Grant Beard doubled Bryson Dorsey home. Guerin Catholic then dominated the fourth inning, putting up eight runs.
AJ Nunley scored on Nolan Ratcliff’s RBI fielder’s choice. Dorsey also got an RBI fielder’s choice to score Ratcliff. Davis Wagner blasted a three-run home run, also bringing Dorsey and Karson Smith home. Cuinn Morrow singled in Drew Wilhite, Nate Gremelspacher’s left field double scored Morrow, then Gremelspacher was sent home by a Nunley sacrifice fly.
Morrow went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Wagner’s two hits included a double. Ryan Zimmerman pitched five innings for the win, tossing five strikeouts.
Guerin Catholic is 13-3 and hosts Norwell Saturday for a doubleheader.

On Tuesday night, Hamilton Southeastern stepped out of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and hosted the Lawrence North Wildcats from the MIC. The game was washed out on Monday and postponed to Tuesday.
Despite being able to score early, HSE couldn’t hold the lead and the visiting Wildcats took away an 8-4 win.
Southeastern scored first in the bottom of the first when Michael Hoog was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Kam Seitz for the early 1-0 edge.
Lawrence North scored one each in the second and third innings, but HSE came right back in the home half of the third.
Colin Goley tied the game 2-2 on a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Evan Haas. The Royals grabbed the lead 3-2 when Luke Sivak lined a single to right, sending Parker O’Steen home on an error by LN’s right fielder.
The Wildcats regained the lead again with two in the fourth, three runs in the fifth and another in the sixth for an 8-3 advantage.
Tyler Noel reached on an error by LN’s third baseman. Noel advanced the second on the same play, allowing Nolan Colbert to score for what wound up the final score of 8-4.
Six different Royal hitters each had a hit, including doubles from Kam Seitz and Nolan Colbert.
Hamilton Southeastern (8-10, 3-5 HCC) hits the road tonight for the first game of their HCC series with Noblesville (14-3, 6-0 HCC) at 6:30 p.m.

University dropped a Wednesday game 5-4 at Lawrence North.
The Wildcats scored two runs in the third inning, but the Trailblazers came back to score four in the fifth inning. Owen Schellhase got University on the board with a right field double to bring Jasper Owens home. Ryan Castetter and Schellhase scored when Cooper Burnett reached on error, then Mark Hamby’s center field double brought Burnett home. That gave the Blazers a 4-2 lead, but LN scored three in the sixth inning to clinch the win.
Owens, Mark Hamby and Jimmy Caldwell each had two hits, including a double for Caldwell.
University is 9-8-1 and hosts Cathedral this afternoon at RoundTripper Academy.
