Baseball: Blazers fall to Cascade

The REPORTER

The University baseball team dropped a cold Wednesday game 9-1 at Cascade.

The Cadets never trailed, scoring two runs in the first inning, then adding three more in the third and fourth innings. The Trailblazers scored their run in the top of the fourth when Charlie Ranek got home on an RBI fielder’s choice by Oliver Kingery.

Cooper Cammack and Philip Jacobs both had one hit for University. The Blazers turned a double play in the bottom of the fourth inning, with left fielder Jacobs throwing to Finn Steiner at third base for the inning’s second out. Steiner then threw to shortstop Beckett Suh, who got the third out to end the inning.

University is 3-2 and hosts its tournament on Saturday.
