Barbara Ann Cook, 75, Minneapolis, Minn., passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 where she was lovingly being cared for at Martin Luther Campus in Minneapolis. She was born on August 15, 1946 to Chester and Jessie (Blades) Cook in Indianapolis.
Barbara Ann grew up in Indianapolis. In 1972, she moved to Minneapolis. Although Barbara Ann had intellectual disabilities, she never let that limit her. She was a part of Opportunity Partners where she learned job training and life skills which allowed her to become more independent. She liked to travel and visited Hawaii and Greece. Barbara Ann loved animals, plants, going to the movies, drinking coffee, drawing and painting. She lived the last 15 years in the Jorgenson House and loved her friends and housemates. She loved her family, was always smiling and was very funny. Barbara Ann was a true, sweet soul.
She is survived by her sister, Elaine Cook Reidy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara Ann was preceded in death by her stepmother, Juanita Cook; and her brother, David Cook.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
