Balanced Tigers get past North Central

Fishers scored another hard-fought win on Tuesday, as a balanced scoring effort got the Tigers past North Central 62-56 in their regular-season finale at the Tiger Den.
The Panthers, ranked No. 10 in the IBCA coaches poll, held a 17-11 lead after the first quarter. But Fishers, ranked No. 2 in both the IBCA and Associated Press Class 4A ratings, came back and tied the game at 27-27 by halftime. Jalen Haralson scored eight points in the first half, including six in the opening period. Charlie Smith had seven points, five in the second quarter.
The third period was tight, with the Tigers holding a 40-39 lead when it finished. Fishers then added 22 points in the fourth to clinch the win; Sean Millsaps delivered three 3-pointers during that quarter.
Four Tigers players reached double figures, led by Haralson’s 15 points. Smith finished with 14 points, while Millsaps and Jeffrey Simmons each scored 12. Simmons had four points in each of the last three quarters. Millsaps finished with four 3s.
The Tigers are 21-2 and play Westfield next Tuesday in the opening round of Class 4A Sectional 8 at Noblesville.
