April 27, 1951 – May 31, 2019
Audrey Juanita Ford, 68, Sheridan, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday evening, May 31, 2019 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. Born April 27, 1951 in Noblesville, she was the daughter of Joseph Carl Heinzmann and Mable Louise (Fosnight) Dixson.
Audrey attended Westfield High School and would later graduate from Hair Fashions by Kaye Beauty College in 1986. She spent most of her working years as a self-employed cosmetologist before eventually retiring to spend more time with her family.
Audrey loved getting out and working in her vegetable garden, but it was her flower beds that always seemed to get the most attention. Her flowers were her true gardening passion. Audrey was also a very talented seamstress and quilter, not to mention a world class cook.
Family was a driving force in her life. Audrey was always striving to be a positive role model for her family. Leading by example, she showed her family that it was okay to be a strong and independent woman, but not to forget your family along the way. She was a dedicated caregiver for her aging mother.
Audrey is survived by her mother, Mable Louise (Fosnight) Dixson; her son, James Earnest Ford, II (Lisa), Peru, Ind.; two daughters, Marice Jo Henry (Byran), Markleville, and Jennifer Louise Ford of Florida; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were pride and joy; two brothers, Bobby Joe Heinzmann (Roberta), Tipton, and Carl Michael Heinzmann (Joey), Noblesville; one sister, Bonnie Diane Heinzmann-Harvey, Tipton; and by her partner in crime, her miniature poodle Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Carl Henizmann; and by her loving husband James Earnest Ford on August 8, 1991. He and Audrey were married on March 2, 1969.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery in rural Westfield. Reverend Steve Pedigo will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the Hamilton County Humane Society in Noblesville.
