Atlanta New Earth Festival will bring increased traffic

The Atlanta New Earth Festival takes place this weekend, Sept. 22 and 23, bringing with it an influx of traffic and visitors to northern Hamilton County.

Most streets in Atlanta close on 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and again from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Vendors begin setting up on Friday.

Travelers in the northern part of the county, especially on State Road 19 and 296th Street (County Road 600 South in Tipton County) should expect increased traffic and possible congestion throughout the weekend.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will have deputies assisting with traffic and parking as well as security throughout the event.
