Actors Theatre of Indiana announced Friday that the Co-Founders of ATI have chosen Abigail Tomlin to become the Equity professional theatre company’s next Production Stage Manager. Tomlin will succeed Kevin Casey, who announced his departure after five years in the role.
“We are very pleased that Abigail has agreed to join us as our next Production Stage Manager. We look forward to working with her as we continue to provide high quality professional theatre and programs,” said ATI Co-Founder and Artistic Director Don Farrell.
Tomlin will be a familiar face to fans and season ticket holders of ATI. She worked as a production assistant last season, part of her five-year career in the business.
“We were very impressed with her management style and production skills while working with Abigail on our past 2019-20 season productions of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Murder for Two and Sweeney Todd,” said ATI Co-Founder and Associate Artistic Director Judy Fitzgerald.
“We can’t wait to begin our 16th Season with Abigail! She’s wonderful,” said ATI Co-Founder and Associate Artistic Director Cynthia Collins.
Tomlin has been stage-managing professionally throughout the Midwest for the last five years. She has worked at such reputable theatres as The Drury Lane Theatre, Big Noise Theatre, Roosevelt University, Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Actors Theatre of Indiana, Music Theatre Works and many others. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Ball State University Department of Theatre and Dance focusing on Production Stage Management. #chirpchirp
“I am thrilled to be continuing to work with Actors Theatre of Indiana and cannot wait to see what the season will bring,” said Tomlin, who begins immediately.
Actors Theatre of Indiana is currently waiting out the COVID-19 quarantine, spending time planning the next exciting season of productions. ATI looks forward to resuming its mission to make our stage a true home for all members of our community and letting the world see what great art can come out of the state-of-the-art 200-seat Studio Theater at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel.
Farrell and all of ATI offered well-wishes to the departing Kevin Casey.
In a personal message to Kevin, the Co-Founders of ATI said this: “Kevin, congratulations! We wish you all the best at your new home with our colleagues at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. We will miss you and want to thank you for your passion, hard work and friendship these past five years with Actors Theatre of Indiana. Love, Don, Judy and Cindy.”
