Families are always welcome at the Hamilton County 4-H Fair, running this year July 18 to 22. A myriad of 4-H contests, special events, and public activities – not to mention animals, displays and food – available for families to enjoy during the 4-H Fair’s five-day run at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville.
The 4-H Fair is a fun, safe, family-friendly environment. There is no charge for admission or parking at the 4-H Fair, and most activities are provided free of charge.
Select highlights for the 2024 4-H Fair include the following:
- Do-Si-Squares Dance Performance: 5 p.m. Thursday, July 18
- Providence Wildlife live animal demonstration: 5 p.m. Thursday, July 18
- Bracken DJ & Sound Company: 8 p.m. Friday, July 19
- Indiana Wild live animal demonstration: 11 a.m. Friday, July 19
- The Grace Scott Band: 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20
- Caravan Classes Kids Art: noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 21
- Gilbert Family Gospel Band: 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21
There will also be a blood drive sponsored by the Hamilton County 4-H Council and the Versiti Blood Center of Indiana. The blood drive will take place two days at the fair: from 2 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, and again from 2 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19. Blood drive participants will receive a voucher for a free milkshake courtesy of Hamilton County Farm Bureau, Inc. and an Indiana State Fair ticket courtesy of Purdue Extension Hamilton County.
Public activities include daily kids activities and crafts, Youth Talent Contest, Youth Pet Parade, Walk-A-Llama, Youth Pedal Pull, and Bob’s Bumpy Barrel Youth Ride. In addition to viewing more than 4,000 4-H projects, fairgoers can see baby chicks and rabbits, or simply “graze” their way through the Food Court.
The fair showcases a variety of classic “fair foods” including elephant ears, corn on the cob, funnel cakes, milkshakes, pork chops, ribeyes, lamb burgers, rabbit brats, lemon shake-ups and much more. Proceeds from all the food vendors support Hamilton County 4-H and other community programs.
Exhibits on display during the 4-H Fair culminate the hard work of Hamilton County’s 4-H members, animal producers, Extension Homemakers, and other artisans.
