Grants will be awarded May 8 at United Way of Central Indiana’s Propel
Applications are now being accepted from nonprofits interested in winning funding by showcasing their innovative ideas at a pitch contest in May.
At Propel, human services organizations will pitch their ideas on how to reduce barriers for those from under-resourced communities or asset-limited backgrounds. The competition seeks to advance new ideas that lead to better outcomes for those most in need. Propel is open to nonprofits serving residents in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan, or Putnam counties.
Grants will be awarded when finalists make their pitches live May 8 at Salesforce in Indianapolis.
Interested nonprofits can apply through Feb. 28 by submitting a five-minute video pitch of their idea. Applicants do not need to be accredited with United Way to participate. For more information or to apply, go to uwci.org/propel.
This will be United Way’s fourth Propel. In the event’s inaugural year in 2022, five organizations pitched their ideas, winning $45,000. The competition has grown each year since, with more than $100,000 awarded at last year’s Propel. In all, more than $250,000 has been awarded through the event.
