The Hamilton County Artists’ Association (HCAA) Youth Membership Council is getting ready to start its third year with a new group of students who attend grades 7 through 12 in Hamilton County. This group was started by Celia Hamilton in 2022 as a Girl Scout Gold Award project with the support of the HCAA board.

The group meets during the school year at the HCAA Birdie Gallery in Noblesville. Over the past two years, members have had the opportunity to work with professional artists learning portrait drawing from life, oil painting, fiber arts, and botanical dye transfer.

Members are encouraged to experience different art forms, display their artwork, share their artistic talents, and build community. There will be opportunities to build leadership and teamwork as well as for volunteer hours during community events such as Fairyville, Art Fair on the Square, HCAA Art Camp for kids, and other events.

Membership is limited to 25 applicants. Interested students must be a resident of Hamilton County and currently in grades 7 through 12. Students must commit to attend and participate in monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month, October through May 2025.

Complete the application form and include three samples of your own work. Submit the application form by Oct. 1, 2024. Download the application at hcaa-in.org.
