Gary Piattoni, most known for his work as an appraiser on PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow”, will be inspecting treasures belonging to residents and invited guests of The Barrington of Carmel (355 S. Guilford Road), an SQLC senior living community, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7.
Piattoni’s expertise covers a wide range of areas including fine art, furniture, decorative arts, collectibles and militaria. Some of the items he has appraised include an 1884 Edison light bulb and plaque, a 1969 Apollo 11 signed postal card and a 1910 handmade mahogany aerial camera. He’s also made several appearances on daytime TV shows including “The Oprah Winfrey Show” over the course of his 25 years in the antique appraisal industry.
Piattoni will make a special appearance at The Barrington, where guests will have the opportunity to present antiques, collectibles and heirlooms for appraisal. He will inspect the piece to uncover its true worth, and the owner can share the item’s unique history.
