April 6, 1943 – December 18, 2019
Annabelle Lee Hart, 76, Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on April 6, 1943 to Cornelius and Eleanor (Henderson) Dexter in Lafayette.
Annabelle graduated from Southwestern High School in 1961 and married the love of her life, Paul Hart, that same year. Throughout the years, Annabelle was an avid volunteer for many causes: School room mother, Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, Sunday school teacher, United Methodist Women’s Circle, PrimeLife Enrichment, Indianapolis Zoo Guild, 500 Festival Associates and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, to name a few. Where there was a need, she gladly filled it. Annabelle was strong in her Christian faith till the end. She was an avid hummingbird watcher, card shark, slot machine enthusiast, euchre player, fantastic cook, seamstress, puzzle lover, reader, flower gardener, walker, swimmer and golfer – she did all she could do.
A true warrior, Annabelle battled cancer three times, polio as a child, and had more surgeries than can be mentioned. She also endured multiple strokes and TIAs which left her with aphasia, and she never complained, she just took it all in stride. Dementia and mobility issues were also fierce competitors, but in the end, Annabelle won.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Paul Hart; daughters, Paula (Brian) Maier and Susan (Bill Randall) Hart Broyles; son-in-law, Jeff Rutt; grandchildren, Allison (Joel) Perkins, Brandon (Lauren) Rutt, Natalie Maier, Nicholas Maier, Eleanor Broyles and Zachary Broyles; great-grandchildren, Noah Rutt, Emma Perkins and Lane Perkins; sister, Patricia Bennett; brother, Calvin (Phyllis) Dexter; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Rutt; brother, Larry Dexter; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Bennett.
A special thank you to Danielle, Brooke and Rippy at Paradigm Hospice; Dacia and Taiwo at Home Care Assistance of Indianapolis; the doctors and nurses at Riverview Hospital; and all of her medical providers throughout her many years of need.
The memories and journeys that Paul and Annabelle made together through life will be forever cherished and not forgotten. Annabelle will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always put family first.
Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Noblesville First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument St., Noblesville, with Rev. Jerry Rairdon officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noblesville First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
In memory of Annabelle the family encourages you to volunteer and give a gift of yourself to others in need.
