Angels’ Attic supports families in need through Meijer ‘Simply Give’ hunger relief program

Campaign set to run through Sept. 27

Angels’ Attic in Arcadia announces a partnership with Meijer to provide much-needed relief to local families facing food insecurity through the retailer’s customer-driven hunger relief program, Simply Give.

“As a recent addition to the Meijer Simply Give program, we are now seeing first-hand how Meijer’s Simply Give program can impact a small town like Arcadia and our Hamilton Heights neighbors,” Angels’ Attic Executive Director Kimberly Beaver said.

Each Meijer Simply Give campaign feeds hungry families by replenishing the shelves of more than 270 food pantries in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The program encourages customers to add a $10 Simply Give donation card to their cart, which is then converted into a Meijer food-only gift card and given to a local food pantry in the store’s community.

Angels’ Attic will benefit from donation cards at the Noblesville Promenade Meijer store at State Road 32 and Little Chicago Road now through Sept. 27. In addition, Meijer will double match contributions made on Saturday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 13 up to a maximum contribution of $10,000 per pantry per campaign.

“Scripture has taught us, and history has proven, the importance of neighbors supporting each other,” Beaver said. “We encourage our community to give, which will help us feed our fellow northern Hamilton County residents. A great way to do this is by adding a Meijer Simply Give food donation card, in any multiple of $10, to their cart during their next shopping trip. Meijer will pass all those donations along to us. If you can shop on the specific Saturdays of Aug. 16 or Sept. 13, Meijer will add two gift cards for every one donated! Meijer’s additional generosity will make a huge difference.”

The Simply Give program may be regional, but its effect stays local.

“What’s special about the Meijer Simply Give program is each contribution stays local and directly impacts neighborhood food pantries to help feed families in need,” said Melissa Conway, Director of Community Partnerships & Giving at Meijer. “Food insecurity remains a national issue and at Meijer, we’re grateful for our customers and team members who continue to support this program, now in its 17th year.”
