Earlier Tuesday, Indiana State Police arrested Joshua L. Senseney, 50, Anderson, for three counts of Child Solicitation, a Level 5 Felony, and Official Misconduct, a Level 6 Felony.
Senseney was an Anderson police officer and School Resource Officer at an Anderson Community School at the time of the alleged incident.
The Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in June at the request of the Anderson Police Department after a parent made allegations of inappropriate texts being sent from Senseney to juveniles while working as a school resource officer. The alleged incident occurred in May. He was previously placed on administrative leave by the Anderson Police Department pending the outcome of the investigation.
After reviewing the investigation, a special prosecutor from the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Sensensey out of Madison County. At approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday, he turned himself into authorities without incident. He was processed at the Madison County Jail, where he posted a bond and was released.
The investigation remains ongoing. This is all the information available for release at this time. Please refer all questions to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
