The Anderson Museum of Art (AMOA) has announced the installation of two new benches at the museum’s front walkway, generously donated by Tony and Laura Soverns. These benches are a stylish enhancement to the historic Carnegie Library building and a heartfelt tribute to the families who have been vital to the museum’s history.
This donation honors the parents of Tony and Laura Soverns, Bob & Dorothy Soverns and Ed & Marge Evers, who were passionate advocates for the arts and dedicated museum volunteers. Laura Soverns noted, “Both my mother-in-law and father were devoted volunteers, and their spouses supported the center as well, so donating two benches made perfect sense.”
The benches arrive as the museum completes Phase 1 of its Under One Roof campaign, focused on preserving AMOA’s beloved building. This phase includes a new flat roof, limestone stair restoration, refinishing of exterior doors, and interior enhancements.
The AMOA Board of Directors and staff extend their deepest thanks to Tony and Laura Soverns for their generous contribution, which enhances the museum’s welcoming atmosphere.
