Alma Virginia Dunder

February 15, 1921 – December 2, 2022

Alma Virginia Dunder, 101, Cicero, passed away on December 2, 2022, at her home with her family with her. She was born on February 15, 1921, in Frankton, Ind., to Charles and Louise (McCord) Closser.

She attended Frankton Schools and graduated from Frankton High School with the Class of 1938. She then furthered her education at Andrews University at Berrian Springs, Mich., where she earned a BA degree in Religious Studies. She then put her education to good use by becoming a missionary.

Virginia, as she was fondly known, married George Dunder on June 25, 1950, and they were blessed with sons Terrance Dunder, Neil Dunder, and Roger Dunder.

She enjoyed her role as wife and homemaker. She liked to plant a large garden and would can and freeze the produce to enable her to have nutritious food for her family – and her family attested to her being a good cook. She loved to read and study her Bible and was a faithful attender of her church. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cicero, Ind.

Surviving her are her three sons; a sister, Darlene Cox; and six grandchildren, Timoura, Arabella, Sheila, Charee, Twyla, and Andrew; plus 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
