Alexander “Bud” Clarke Reed, Jr.

December 19, 1922 – January 1, 2020

Alexander “Bud” Clarke Reed, Jr., 97, Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 19, 1922 to Alexander Clarke Reed Sr. and Rose (Wurtele) Reed in Lexington, Ky.

Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. For over 30 years, he worked in sales for Pfizer. Bud was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville and enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, and being behind the wheel of his car. Most of all, Bud loved being with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Gayle Reed Tabor and Susan R. (Tom) Wright; son, Marshel H. Reed, Sr.; eight grandchildren, Beth T. Larkins, Alexander (Alex) Reed IV, Justin Tabor, Rachel Reed, M. Hayes Reed II, Reed Tabor, McKennan Wright and Joseph Reed; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hayes Reed, in 2019; son, Alexander Clarke Reed III; and son-in-law, Jerry Tabor.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, with Pastor Eric Gale officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to Bud’s long-time caregiver, Darla Smith.
