Laura Alerding of Noblesville has filed paperwork with the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office placing her name on the May 7 Republican primary ballot for State Representative for the 29th District, which covers Noblesville Township and a small portion of Fall Creek Township.

Alerding currently serves on the Noblesville School Board. She has owned a promotional and marketing business since 2004.

“I am happy to be joined by my husband and some of my family while filing my candidacy for Indiana House Representative for the 29th District,” Alerding said. “As a member of the Noblesville School Board I have stood tall under pressure from the opposition while defending parents’ rights and protecting our children! If elected as your State Representative, I will bring that same conservative resolve and fortitude to the Statehouse and when it comes to holding the line on taxes, protecting the unborn, defending our Second Amendment rights and supporting our family and faith values.”

Alerding said her experience as a business owner and school board member gives her the ability to offer real solutions.

“As a small business owner, I know what it’s like to have to meet a budget, and I’ll be a good steward of your tax dollars,” Alerding said. “As a school board member, I am aware of the increase in student mental health issues. When elected, I’ll tackle this growing problem with solutions to protect our children. I’ll also continue to push for greater academic achievement in our local schools and be our greatest advocate in the next budget session, ensuring that money continues to follow the child to the benefit of our growing Hamilton County schools.”

Alerding said today’s challenges require a representative who will stand strong for public safety.

“With our growing population comes growing challenges, and as your next state representative, I’ll always stand with our police and fire fighters against the radical left that seek to defund them,” Alerding said. “I’ll work with our local leaders to provide them the tools to keep Hamilton County a safe place to work, live, and raise a family.”

Laura Alerding is a native Hoosier. She and her husband Jim have a combined family of six children, 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. They always enjoy spending time with family at sporting events, birthdays, school activities, and special occasions.
