A 13-year Fishers resident, Aimee Rivera Cole has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service in her local community. In addition to currently serving as the first female President of the Sagamore Inn of Court, Cole has also spent countless hours volunteering for various schools in Fishers. She has served multiple-year terms of various local school-related boards, including Fishers High School Gridiron, Hamilton Southeastern Youth and Fishers High School Rugby, as well as a volunteer coach for the Fishers Knights cheer squad. She has served as the assistant treasurer for Hamilton Southeastern Lacrosse and is currently active with Fishers Tiger One. Cole has also volunteered as a presenter at the Fall Creek Junior High Career Day and Fishers High School Student Choice Day. Prior to relocating to Fishers, Cole was a founding member of the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary in Gary.

Running as a Democrat with a track record of collaboration and cooperation, Cole says she is committed to ensuring Hoosier residents have the opportunity to thrive locally, without the need for relocation due to unfavorable economic factors.

“I want to make every Hoosier city and town a place where residents can earn a fair living wage and afford safe housing,” said Cole. “I believe that every Hoosier wants essentially the same things – a happy, healthy family and a safe community. Residents deserve this and more.”

Cole ran for the Indiana House of Representatives previously in 2018. Though unsuccessful, her performance marked the first time any Democrat earned over 39 percent of the vote – Cole received 46 percent and believes the time is right in 2020.

“Democrats won four local council seats in Hamilton County in 2019,” said Cole. “District 37 is ready for change. We’ve seen this manifest in the election results during the last two cycles, and I hear it every day when I meet with residents.”

Cole received a bachelor’s degree in business from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. Cole has been a practicing attorney since 2003 and currently works as Senior Counsel for Travelers Staff Counsel in Indianapolis. She lives in Fishers with her husband, Randy Cole. Their eldest son is a student at Franklin College and their daughter attends Fishers High School. The Rivera Coles are parishioners at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist.

Cole’s campaign launch event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 at Boombozz Pizza & Taphouse, 9887 E. 116th St., Fishers. For more information about Aimee Rivera Cole, please visit coleforindrep.com and follow her at facebook.com/coleforindrep.
