Westfield Washington Township announced Monday that after 42 years in public service, Kim Daniels will retire.

Daniels was a teacher for four years prior to becoming a police officer. She retired from the Westfield Police Department in 2019 after a total of 35 years of service as a patrol officer and school resource officer and went on to serve as Westfield Washington Township’s investigator for the past four years.

“Kim has devoted most of her life to serving our community whether it’s through teaching, public safety, school safety or helping meet the needs of residents struggling with insecurities,” Westfield Washington Township Trustee Danielle Carey Tolan said. “Kim has an enormously caring heart and we are so grateful that she has spent so much time serving our friends and neighbors here in Westfield. We wish her all the best in her retirement.”

In her time as Township Investigator, Daniels helped hundreds of residents by providing basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, medical, essential utility supplies, and household supplies.

“I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to serve this community for so many years,” Daniels said. “I have encountered some extraordinary people throughout my career, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.”
