The second annual Abs Angels Legacy Golf Outing took place Saturday at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville.
The outing honors the legacy of the late Abigail Cox, a Hamilton Southeastern graduate and Purdue University student, and benefits a $20,000 Purdue scholarship. The outing raised over $25,000, with any leftover money going to causes that Cox cared about, such as the HSE Blue Crew and Young Life.
“It was awesome,” said Kathy Cox. She noted that the second- and third-place teams at the outing both had ties to Abigail: the second-place team included recent HSE graduates Wyatt Watson, Kevin and Brennan Baker and Liam Boyd, while the third-place team came from Purdue’s Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, which includes Abigail’s brother Elliott Cox.
“Everybody had fun,” said Kathy Cox. She said people came up to her and said that the outing was “such an amazing event” and praised Purgatory as well.
“Purgatory was great to work with,” said Kathy Cox.
