Westfield won its third consecutive game on Wednesday, beating Bishop Chatard 61-52 in an away game.
The Shamrocks got off to a good start, with Jade Shipley making a 3-pointer. Westfield led 17-8 after the first quarter, scoring six points in the last two minutes. Ryann Bunting scored on a drive during that time.
Westfield led 31-18 at halftime; Megan Rops also hit a ‘3’ during the second period. Chatard cut the lead to 47-38 after three quarters, but the ‘Rocks held on in the fourth period.
Sophia Kreag and Shipley each scored 10 points. Kreag, Rops and Shipley each made two 3-pointers. Kreag and Gigi Eldredge both pulled six rebounds, while Shipley dished out four assists and made four steals.
Westfield is now 12-5 for the season and returns to The Rock Saturday afternoon to play Hamilton Heights.
