Greg O’Connor, a 10-year member of the Noblesville City Council, will run for Indiana State Representative, District 29. O’Connor has been a Noblesville resident for 30 years.
“I have worked diligently over the last 10 years for the citizens of Noblesville as a City Councilman. I intend to take the experience and knowledge I’ve developed over the last decade and apply it to effectively represent the citizens of District 29. Hamilton County is a driver of economic success of our state and I intend to work closely with local and county government to insure ongoing job creation, economic development, and workforce development,” said O’Connor.
Serving two terms as Noblesville City Council President, Chair of the Finance Committee, an Economic Development Committee Chair and member and as a member of the Plan Commission, O’Connor has made a big impact. In the last decade, O’Connor has proved his experience and dedication for economic development, workforce development, streamlining budgeting processes, implementing quality of life initiatives and providing more education opportunities for the city.
Several economic development projects have been completed with O’Connor’s support and direction including: Blue Sky Technology, Borg Warner, Cabela’s, Embassy Suites and Metro Plastics. While serving on the City Council, O’Connor helped bring 1,618 new and promised jobs to Noblesville.
O’Connor has kept taxes low by finding innovative ways to fund new road and infrastructure projects. O’Connor has played a significant role in the city’s current strong fiscal position. As a councilman, O’Connor has worked closely with the city controller to roll out a five year capital improvement plan.
O’Connor is a supporter and promoter for providing Noblesville citizens more recreational and family-focused options. Recently, he’s championed the revitalization of Noblesville’s Southside Park, Federal Hill Commons and Finch Creek Park. Together with state and county support, O’Connor played a central role in bringing Ivy Tech to Noblesville.
“Economic growth is crucial in facilitating job creation, retaining a low tax rate environment and working to provide all Hoosiers with an opportunity to succeed. I’m the person Hamilton County can count on,” said O’Connor.
O’Connor and his wife have lived in Noblesville for three decades. Their two children, Kerry and Evan, are proud alumni of Noblesville Schools. O’Connor is employed by BMO Harris Bank, N.A. as a Senior Vice President and Director. He also serves Noblesville as a Riverview Health Foundation board member, Noblesville Chamber of Commerce Business Advisory member, Noblesville Schools Miller Ambassador, Noblesville Schools Education Foundation life member and a Community Health Network Foundation Advisory Board member.
