The Carmel Police Department (CPD) officers and civilian employees once again participated in “No Shave November” in an effort to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). One hundred Carmel Police Department employees raised a total of $7,507 for LLS along with community sponsors.
Carmel Police Chief James Barlow stated, “This is our second year to participate in “No Shave November”. We relaxed our grooming standards for a little over a month allowing officers and other employees to participate in the event. This is an awesome way for our Carmel Police family and the community to come together and raise money for such a great cause.”
Nearly 30 officers attended the “Shave Off” event on Sunday, Dec. 3 at Main Street Barber Shop. Main Street Barber Shop opened its doors to the Carmel Police Department and officers were treated with a good old fashioned beard shaving.
Main Street Barber Shop owner Jason Peek stated, “As a Carmel business owner, I wanted to help clean up the officers who were participating in the No Shave November event. Our officers protect us and our community every day and this was one way to thank them for what they do.”
CPD wishes to thank the Carmel community for their continued support, especially the following sponsors: Main Street Barber Shop, Integrity Automotive, Carmel High School employees, Carmel Fire Department and Jack’s Donuts.
