Dear Editor:

As the rest of us rethink our spending in light of 8 to 9 percent inflation and the start of stagflation, the Carmel central progressive planners are hard at work thinking up new ways to spend other people’s money.

Real estate researchers at Cushman & Wakefield report one in five Carmel offices are vacant, and the central planners are building hundreds of more offices.

Massive apartment complexes have yet to be filled and even more massive complexes are a-building.

Meanwhile, the mayor belittles anyone bold enough to ask for explanations.

And the city council reins in any hope of establishing an independent audit committee with authority to at least report publicly just how bad city finances are.

It’s time to end amateur night in the cabin of the municipal 747.
