The Sheridan Historical Society Museum, 315 S. Main St., Sheridan, will hold a Palm Sunday Tornado Program at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13 for Sheridan area residents who experienced or had family experience the 1965 Palm Sunday tornado.
The program will feature Janis Thornton, who authored a new book about the Palm Sunday outbreak. During the program, Thornton will review her book and hear stories from residents who lived through the experience. Her book will be available for purchase at the program and the Historical Society will provide extra copies available for sale.
Sheridan lost 12 souls that day and each of those families has a story to tell. All those affected by the tornado are encouraged to come. The program will be held in the Jeanne Cornell Theatre inside the museum. Light refreshments will be served.
