The Carmel baseball team won its first game at the Hall of Fame Classic at Jasper’s Ruxer Field on Friday night.
The Greyhounds sailed past Northview 16-4 in five innings, scoring 15 of those runs in the fifth inning. Griffin Wolf hit a home run and a double, while Adam Buczkowski and Kenny Bruntlett both hit a double and a single. James Ross got the pitching win in relief.
Carmel is 12-4 and plays defending Class 4A state champion and tournament host Jasper at 11 a.m. this morning, then takes on Edgewood at 2 p.m.
